"Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity."

-1 TIMOTHY 4:12

The goal of the Youth Ministry at First Baptist Church is to train servant-leaders for the Lord Jesus Christ.

We strive to teach every young person to spend their lives serving and glorifying the Lord. Youth meets every Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall. On occasion, activities are scheduled on Fridays. Some of these activities include putt-putt golf, bowling, paintball, a formal Christmas party, and many others.  FBC has a burden to meet the spiritual needs of young people.

Sunday Bible Study

Meeting Time: Sundays 10:00-10:45 am

Locations: Ann Avriett Educational Building (E) & Family Life Center (G)

Our junior high (7-8 grades) and high school (9th-12th grades) Sunday school classes offer students biblical lessons that apply to the issues teenagers face. FBC desires our youth to realize the importance of making wise decisions in their Christian lives and to understand the decisions they make now affect their futures.

Wednesday Bible Study

Meeting Time: 7:00 pm

Location: Fellowship Hall

Our youth need to understand how God’s Word applies to their daily lives. During each Wednesday evening service, our youth are challenged and encouraged by the preaching of messages that deal directly with the issues they are facing.

Activities

Friendships and fellowship are important parts of a teenager’s life. Through weekly and monthly activities such as strawberry picking, laser tag, bowling, structured games, and more our youth get the opportunity to build godly relationships with other teens.

Summer Camp

Every summer in July, our teens have the privilege of attending Bible-based camps that focus on the consistency of Spirit-led preaching and practice. Camp allows teens a time to reflect on their lives without outside distractions while hearing great preaching from pastors who have a heart for teens. They get the opportunity to make new friends and grow closer to their fellow youth members. Statistics show that many major life decisions are made at camp.

Missions Trips

Every two years FBC plans a mission trip to help a missionary run a Vacation Bible School and Teen Rally. The mission team usually consists of approximately twenty-five people, half of which are teens. Teens learn a myriad of things as they plan for these trips from how to raise the funds to go, how to obtain a passport, how to sing songs in another language, how to perform skits, and how to give a clear presentation of the gospel. On the field, they experience how people live, see what a missionary’s life is all about, how to do visitation, how to keep up with a busy schedule, and how easy it is to love children they have never met before. Over the past ten years, FBC has visited California, Cameroon, Chile, Honduras, and Bolivia on two separate trips.

Land O'Lakes Christian School

Land O’Lakes Christian School is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Land O’Lakes for children ages 3 through 12th grade. Our educational philosophy is based upon the Word of God. The Bible is the integrating and unifying principle for our entire program. God is at the center of every subject taught. The entire staff is born-again and holds the view that "in all things He must have the preeminence." Every part of the curriculum is interpreted and applied from a Christ-centered, biblical perspective. We are uniquely fitted to assist parents in fulfilling the God-given responsibility of Christian education. The Bible, the one text through which all others must be viewed, is the center of the curriculum at Land O’Lakes Christian School. We teach that there is perfection in all that God has done. LOLCS studies language, literature, art, history, math, and science as it has influenced human history.

Our school offers:

* A dedicated Christian-staff who is concerned with helping your child develop Godly character and spiritual maturity.

* A Christian environment with an emphasis on character, respect for authority, and citizenship.

* An excellent academic program with proven results in achievement.

* Low student to teacher ratio with individualized attention and instruction.
